Der Ort
Das Projekt beginnt mit dem Blick auf einen offenen Platz auf der Museumsinsel, umrahmt von der massigen Präsenz des Doms und begrenzt vom Fluss. Ein Ort, bislang ohne Bedeutung oder Modifizierung innerhalb des Städtebauprojekts der symbolischen Akropolis Berlins. Der Ort ist mehrdeutig: Drum herum passiert viel, aber im Innern hat er keine spezielle Bedeutung. Das Ganze wirkt unvollständig. Der Pavillon wird den Ort beleben, ihn aktivieren und die Gegend vervollständigen. Er bringt eine menschliche Dimension und passenden Raum, der vom Betrachter verstanden wird.
Ein Entwurf mit neun Kreisen und einer Passage drum herum. Aus der Entfernung erscheint die Skulptur als ein einziges massiges Volumen. Die Form ist klar und wiedererkennbar. Angefangen mit einem Würfel, aus dem mehrere Blocks extrahiert wurden, die den Raum für Aktivität öffnen. Im Innern können Besucher, geschützt vor der geschäftigen Umgebung, die handwerklichen Werke genießen. Natürliches Licht gelangt ins Innere, ohne dass man den Himmel sieht. Die Decke des Pavillons ist inspiriert von zwei Konstruktionsmethoden, die genutzt wurden im Neuen Museum und für die Passagen, die die Museumsinsel queren. Der Boden verführt Besucher, den Ort auf frei gewählten Wegen zu erkunden. Markierte Pfade halten sie zwar stets auf der Insel. Doch viele Optionen erlauben es Besuchern, die Insel nach persönlichem Interesse zu umrunden, zu kreuzen oder auf beliebige Weise zu erwandern.
The project starts by looking at an open space in the Museumsinsel, enclosed by the volumetric presence of the Dome and limited by the river. A space which yet hasn’t been a point of significance or modification inside the urban projects of the symbolic Acropolis for Berlin.
The place is ambiguous, around it there are many things happening, but in it, there is no specific reason.
It leaves the whole incomplete.
The pavilion will bring new activity to the place, activating it and completing further more the site. Bringing Human scale and a legible space understood by the viewer.

Das Werk - The Work
Plan of nine circles and a passage around it. From the distance the sculpture is perceived as one massive volume. The form is straight and recognisable. Starting with a cube from which different blocks have been extracted, opening space for activity to happen. When inside, and protected from the busy surrounding, the visitor can appreciate the more crafted work. Natural sky light is brought in through techniques, where clarity enters without seeing the sky. The ceiling of the pavilion is inspired in two construction methods used one in the Neues Museum and the other for the passages that run across the Museumsinsel.The floor plan leaves the visitor to explore it in a free way, Marked paths are limiting the visitor constantly in the island, here options are multiple leaving it to the personal interest of the individual to walk around it, across it or in any other way.
